Introduction
Welcome to the newly formed and highly invigorated Graphic Illusions (GI) Comics, a joint venture of GI Studios and Crucial Crisis Comix. 2010 promises to be an exciting year for this new brand as it picks up right where one of its parents left off. Fan favorite and GI staple, The Rift™: Vol. 1 will see its completion with the unveiling of issue #6, while other titles like Immortal Kiss™ and Urban Sprawl™ will continue to introduce and develop the amazing characters that only these amazing stories could contain. The commercially and critically acclaimed ‘Marshal™’ officially joins the GI stable; and believe it or not, there’s still more! GI Comics is proud to officially launch its all new manga-inspired line of ‘black & white’ comics, starting with Intrepid™, which debuts January 20th, and Shonen Double Feature™, (featuring Lighting Rod™ and Brooklyn Blur™) launching April 2010. Our ‘Black & Whites’, The Rift™ and other great titles are only the tip of the iceberg, as we plan to keep the surprises comin’ throughout 2010. So stay tuned to the redesigned website, and get drawn into Graphic Illusions Comics.
Mastering Sequential Art
Getting top talent to make guest appearances on our books is a good start. We’re honored that Paul Gulacy and Jimmy Palmiotti have become good friends of ours and we’re delighted beyond belief that they have placed their collective talent on our flagship title The Rift™. Aside from such acclaimed talent, we also have a cadre of new artists willing to step up to the plate and deliver some hard-hitting, crisp and beautiful artwork. Montos simply does marvelous work, capturing the fast paced yet deliberate feel of Intrepid™, while Rob Richardson does a fantastic job bringing the youthful exuberance of Lightning Rod™ to life. There are a few more artists that we have hiding in the shadows, and everyone will get to see their talent...when the time is right, of course.

Yet a great comic book cannot rest on artwork alone. It's tough to get a job as a writer in this business and it's even tougher to prove yourself when you go it alone. Great artwork and strong cover art can influence a fan to buy a book, but it is the stories and the characters that keep you coming back for more. It is our mission to keep readers coming back for more--so creating exciting new worlds and characters to inhabit them is just crucial to us as it is to YOU, our audience. Every script that comes through our studio must be jam packed with action, emotions, and character development before anyone can pick up a pencil and start chiseling away at the blank art board that is to become Page One.
