CRUCIAL CRISIS COMIX BRINGS A “SECOND WAVE” OF ENTERTAINMENT
TO GRAPHIC ILLUSIONS STUDIOS
PRESS RELEASE
12/23/09- Massachusetts based Graphic Illusions Studios announced today that starting January 2010, it will begin carrying Crucial Crisis Comix’s “Second Wave” comic line. This partnership with the Washington, D.C., based comic company marks the first steps towards the formation of a new publishing entity. More details regarding the CCC/GIS joint venture will be available soon!
The coming joint venture represents Graphic Illusions Studios’ latest expansion of its stable of comics that include such critically acclaimed titles as The Rift, Dion Floyd’s Immortal Kiss, and Marshal.
“We’ve always believed that the expansion of our comic book titles is not something to be taken lightly,” explained Andrew LoVuolo, Graphic Illusions Studios’ Creative Director. “We have a small, focused, but very diverse lineup of comics under our banner and we aren’t looking to add on more titles just for the sake of it. That line of thinking factored heavily in our decision to partner up with Crucial Crisis Comix. What the Crucial Crisis team brings to us is a different perspective of storytelling, as well as of the comic book industry. It’s this fresh outlook that complements what we’ve already established here as a small press publisher.”
“At the end of the day, it’s all about entertainment”, stated Jose Loeri, President of Crucial Crisis Comix. “G.I. Studios’ long-standing diversity of titles lets me know that they are in business to entertain people in a variety of ways. That struck me as something that we had in common. Crucial Crisis Comix is about entertainment, be it comedy, drama, action adventure, sci-fi, what have you - we want to put entertainment in your hands on-time and often. From that standpoint our partnership with Graphic Illusions Studios was a no-brainer. Crucial Crisis’ focus tends to be on the superhero genre of comics. In that sense, I think we fill a void in G.I.’s current comic book stable which will further diversify its line.”
The Crucial Crisis-G.I. partnership kicks off in January with the introduction of what is being called the ‘Second Wave’ line. What is the ‘Second Wave’? Only time will tell.
“I’m a fan of the ‘less is more’ philosophy of marketing and advertising,” Jose explained, “so you won’t get much out of me right now. What’s most important to us as a comic company is to have our books ready to ship on time from start to finish. We’ll be leaking information on the content of our offerings well before January, so bookmark www.gistudios.com and check back often for announcements, press releases and teasers. Our game is to entertain and we feel that dissemination of information can also be a form of entertainment in and of itself. So keep your head on a swivel or you’ll miss something. Once we get started on the media blitz we’re taking no prisoners!”

A 'Variety' of Reviews for Immortal Kiss.
Dion Floyd's latest issue of Immortal Kiss has already started to sell like hotcakes through our growing list of retailers and as we roll out this current installment of the series reviews have come in from HollywoodJesus.com as well as Hollywood's own Variety.com the industry's source for hot entertainment news and reviews! Now Variety's review was a little lower than we expected it to be (this being our 2nd book in the series and all), but we know full well that it's much easier to critique a book or series than it is to write, draw, color or edit one. ; )
